Personal Independence Payment (PIP) may be available if you are aged 16 to State Pension age and have a long-term physical or mental health condition that makes daily living or mobility difficult. Your difficulties normally need to have lasted, or be expected to last, at least 12 months, and you must meet the residence and presence rules. PIP is not means-tested, so income and savings are not usually considered. The DWP decides eligibility and the rate after considering how your condition affects specific activities, often using an assessment and supporting evidence.
