Being a carer does not automatically stop you claiming Personal Independence Payment (PIP), as PIP is based on how a long-term health condition or disability affects your daily living and mobility. You may be able to receive PIP alongside Carer’s Allowance, provided you meet the separate rules for each benefit. If you receive the daily living part of PIP, the person who cares for you might also qualify for Carer’s Allowance, subject to their caring, earnings and other conditions. Check the latest guidance on GOV.UK, as your circumstances will determine the outcome.
