A PIP assessment considers how your condition affects specific daily-living and mobility activities, such as communicating, mixing with people, planning journeys and managing treatment, rather than the diagnosis alone. An assessor may ask about typical and difficult days, how often problems occur, what help you need, and whether you can do activities safely, repeatedly, to an acceptable standard and in a reasonable time. Assessments can be by phone, video or face to face; you can request reasonable adjustments and explain if another person’s support is needed.
