Personal Independence Payment (PIP) may be available to people aged 16 to State Pension age who have a long-term physical or mental health condition or disability affecting daily living or mobility. The difficulties usually need to have lasted, or be expected to last, at least 12 months, and eligibility is based on how the condition affects you rather than its name alone. PIP is not means-tested, so income and savings generally do not affect a claim, but the DWP makes the decision using your evidence and assessment. Check the current guidance on GOV.UK; in Scotland, Adult Disability Payment replaces new PIP claims.
