Being a carer or receiving Carer’s Allowance does not automatically qualify you for Housing Benefit. You may be able to claim if you have a low income and rent your home, but most working-age renters must normally claim Universal Credit for help with housing costs instead; Housing Benefit remains available in some cases, such as certain supported or temporary accommodation.
